A yard with a damaged playground set and a damaged building, debris scattered, with dark storm clouds overhead. Russian military strike in Ukraine

A journey in telling people’s stories.

Storytelling.

A man in military gear with camouflage helmet and vest, crouching in a forest, holding a camera with a telephoto lens, surrounded by green trees and bushes.
A male journalist wearing tactical gear and holding a press badge and cameras, standing outdoors with military vehicles and soldiers in the background.

Chernobyl at 40: The World’s Worst Nuclear Power Accident and Where It Stands Now

Forty years after the world’s worst nuclear disaster, I traveled to Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in February and March to co-write and photograph an editorial examining where the site stands today. Working inside the exclusion zone, I documented the remains of the reactor, daily life around the plant, and the lasting impact the disaster still has on Ukraine and the world. The assignment combined firsthand reporting and photography to tell the story of how Chernobyl disastercontinues to shape energy, history, and recovery efforts four decades later.
